[2011-07-04] - Philippe Gourbesville, Grand prix d'hydrotechnique 2011

The Hydrotechnical Prize  2011, Special Prize of the SHF rewarding a career devoted to hydraulics, was awarded to Philippe Gourbesville.
Ph. Gourbesville is Director of Polytech'Nice, Professor at Nice-Sophia University, Board Member of the Scientific Committee of the SHF, and of the jury of the Henri Milon prize .

The prize was awarded in recognition of all his work in the field of hydrology, hydraulics of free surface flows, and hydroinformatics systems development : numerical modeling, architecture simulation tools development, and collaborative working for virtual environments,

Very involved in the scientific community and university, including European research programs, he is doing a lot for the renown of French R & D  in the fields of water management and hydroinformatics,

An active member of the Societé Hydrotechnique de France he co-organized and hosted several seminars and conferences, including SimHydro.
