Labs-on-a-chip have begun to conquer biological and medical laboratories. Miniaturised heat exchangers, micromixers and microreactors now enable chemicals to be produced in situ, leading to changes in traditional production methods. The aerospace and automotive industries, as well as biotechnology and medical applications, are benefiting from the increased possibilities and advantages offered by the use of micro-fluidic systems. Sensors and systems for chemical analysis or treatment can be integrated into miniature devices, extending their use to new areas.<\/p><p>The technology is complex and requires precise knowledge of the behaviour of fluid flows, heat transfers and various processes within miniaturised structures of varying complexity.<\/p><p>The problem of fluid mechanics, which takes account of specific micro-scale phenomena, is often coupled with a variety of problems relating to heat, chemistry, micromechanics, electronics, optics, etc.<\/p><p>Today, microfluidics is a highly multidisciplinary field of research that is constantly evolving.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-75ecd8c elementor-widget elementor-widget-heading\" data-id=\"75ecd8c\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"heading.default\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<h2 class=\"elementor-heading-title elementor-size-default\">Events<\/h2>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-45f54aa1 elementor-widget-divider--view-line elementor-widget elementor-widget-divider\" data-id=\"45f54aa1\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"divider.default\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-divider\">\n\t\t\t<span class=\"elementor-divider-separator\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/span>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-922316d elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"922316d\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p>This group is behind the \u03bcflu European colloquia, the fifth of which was held in Strasbourg in March 2018.<\/p><p>The Microfluidics Conference 2018 (\u00b5Flu\u201918) is the fifth European Conference on Microfluidics. It comes after \u00b5Flu\u201908 (Bologna), \u00b5Flu\u201910 (Toulouse), \u00b5Flu\u201912 (Heidelberg) and \u00b5Flu\u201914 (Limerick). \u00b5Flu\u201918 will aim at continuing to strengthen the links inside the European and worldwide Microfluidics scientific community by gathering all actors in this discipline, and to promote exchanges between European or non-European universities and industrial companies engaged in this field.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-column elementor-col-50 elementor-top-column elementor-element
