Ces pr\u00e9cipitations peuvent \u00eatre \u00e0 l&#8217;origine d&#8217;inondations importantes et produire des d\u00e9g\u00e2ts mat\u00e9riels, voire la perte de vies humaines.<\/p>\n<p>L&#8217;importance de ces \u00e9v\u00e8nements est fonction de l&#8217;intensit\u00e9 et de la distribution spatiale de la pluie, mais \u00e9galement des caract\u00e9ristiques des bassins versants: topographie, nature des sols, \u00e9tat de la v\u00e9g\u00e9tation&#8230; En particulier, la capacit\u00e9 d&#8217;absorption des sols en eau est un facteur limitant du volume ruissel\u00e9.<\/p>\n<p>Pour \u00e9tudier ces processus, le recours \u00e0 la mod\u00e9lisation est donc de premi\u00e8re importance.
